Digital storytelling has revolutionized the craft of journalism and influenced the role, relevance and audiences of established media models. Citizens are no longer passive consumers of media content but often play an active role as content creators.

CitizensConnect is a new trilingual digital storytelling web platform dedicated to promoting excellence in mobile journalism. It is a space for citizens to contribute to the development of alternative media narratives through powerfull digital storytelling. CitizensConnect works with storytellers from all districts to amplify peoples’ voices. These content creators will work closely with the CitizensConnect Studio, developing their skills through a series of trainings by local and global experts, using mobile technology to produce and share stories that are too often overlooked by themainstream media. During the story production and publication cycle, storytellers are provided with content mentoring and support by a dedicated team to help produce high-quality digital media content.
